I take you into one day of working in a team with the principle of scrum working as well as agile working methods.
As a designer, I believe that the agile way of working has become an indispensable part of our everyday professional life.
"Agile Working optimizes the way teams collaborate and create value together for the clientele."
- Robert Mitson from Sherpany
Each day brings new possibilities. I start my day with a fresh mindset, ready to tackle whatever design challenge lies ahead. The morning ritual typically involves reviewing the current project, understanding its unique requirements, and, most importantly, listening to the client's vision. Flexibility is the name of the game, as no two days are quite the same in the world of design.
Once the problem is defined, the ideation phase begins. In a creative brainstorming session with my team, we use Design Thinking techniques like brainstorming and mind mapping to generate ideas. The diversity of perspectives within the team is a valuable resource for developing innovative approaches. Whether it's with clients, subject matter experts, or team members, these sessions are the crucible where ideas are forged. I facilitate brainstorming, design thinking, and ideation workshops, encouraging diverse perspectives and nurturing an atmosphere where creativity flourishes.
Lunch serves as a brief intermission, but the creative pulse persists. It's not uncommon for me to use this time to sketch initial concepts or refine prototypes born out of the morning's workshops. Feedback is a critical component of our process, and we continually seek insights from participants to drive our design decisions.
The next phase often involves the implementation of ideas, guided by the insights and revelations uncovered in our workshops. We leverage the Lean Startup approach to swiftly adapt and incorporate creative input from collaborative sessions. Scrum serves as the backbone, helping us organize work into time-boxed iterations, ensuring agility and adaptability.
